Horse Barns

There are many ways that horse barns can be built; this can depend on how many horses you own, as well as how much money you want to spend on the horse barn and also how much space you have for the horse barn construction. There are a few different types of horse barns that you can build and just like a house you need to get your permits and check up on all the zoning laws, this can affect what type of barn you can use. One of the best horse barns if you have a limited amount of space is called the three sided run-in. This type of barn is made up of stalls and is great protection for horses even in severe weather conditions. These types of barns do not allow you room the store grains and hay and there is also no room to groom the horses.

Horse barns can be as big as your space and money allows, and if you have a lot of horses you are going to need a large barn. Another thing to consider when planning your horse barn is the material you will use for the floor. It is alright to just use dirt, and dirt is really the best for the horse’s legs. The only problem with dirt floors is you cannot wash them. Concrete can be used but it is bad for horse’s legs, so if you use concrete you need to make sure that you pad the flooring with bedding and rubber mats. These are the easiest to clean out of the options you can choose. Wood floors are not really an option because the horse waste will rot the floor over time.
